In Germany Adolf Hitler came to power and tricked many Germans into believing they were a superior race. He was willing to use violence in furthering his political objectives. Even before Hitler and his politcal parties rose to power Germany was looking for someone to blame for its defeat in the previous war. That's when Hitler stepped in and placed the blame on the Jews. They were the largest German minority so it was easy to blame them. Anti- Semitism had already had a long history in Germany. Hitler played that to his advantage. In 1980 Hermann Ahlwardt wrote an essay called "The War of Desperation between the Aryan People and Judiasm." It stated that all Jews needed to be exterminated. With Hitler's persuasive personality and so many others already against the Jews the Aryan race had no problem believing they were superior. Soon after Hitler came to power Jews were sent to concentratrion camps and the mass killings of Jews began. This was known as the Shoah or as we would say, Holocaust. Approximately 6 million Eurpoean Jews were murdered.
